Janet Napolitano has served on Fortinet's Board of Directors since November 2024. She is the founder and faculty director of the Center for Security in Politics at UC Berkeley and a professor of public policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy.

She served as President of the University of California from September 2013 to August 2020, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security from 2009 to 2013, Governor of Arizona from 2003 to 2009, Attorney General of Arizona from 1998 to 2003, and U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona from 1993 to 1997, and was earlier a partner at Lewis and Roca LLP. She holds a B.S. in political science from Santa Clara University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
