Professor Vincent Lawton is Chairman of Addex's Board of Directors, chairs the Audit Committee and is a member of the Compensation Committee. He was Vice President Merck Europe and Managing Director of MSD UK until he stepped down in 2006, after 26 years' service internationally for Merck & Co. He was appointed CBE for services to the pharmaceutical industry and, as President of the ABPI, helped establish the UK as a leading centre of clinical research. He served on the board of the UK regulatory authority (MHRA) from 2008 to 2015, was Senior Strategy Adviser for Imperial College Department of Medicine and is a board member of Neurosterix. He studied Psychology at the University of London, where he holds an undergraduate degree and a PhD.

He is Visiting Professor of Pharmacology at Imperial College London, Chairman/Non-Executive Director of Avilex (Denmark) and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Neurosterix. He was previously Chair of the SAB of Asceneuron (2014-2021) and a Non-Executive Director of Orexo AB (2008-2019). Before retirement he was Executive Director, Licensing and External Research at Merck/MSD in Europe (2002-2008) and Executive Director, Pharmacology (1990-2002) at the Merck Neuroscience Research Centre, with oversight of neuroscience research at the Banyu Research Labs in Japan. He is President Emeritus of the British Pharmacological Society and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. He received his academic training (BPharm, PhD) at the University of London and an Honorary DSc from the University of Bradford.

Earlier he was a partner with the MPM BioEquities Fund and a portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton Investments, and an investment banker with Alex. Brown & Sons. Mr. Dyer led the spin-out of Neurosterix from Addex, serving as its CEO/CFO until May 2025. Earlier he spent ten years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the UK and Switzerland in the audit and business advisory group. He also serves as a Board Director of Neurosterix, Chairman of Stalicla SA (a clinical-stage precision-medicine company focused on neurodevelopmental disorders) and a Board Director of Multiwave Technologies AG. He was remunerated for his role as Chief Executive Officer from November 1, 2025. Mr. Dyer is a UK Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and Pharmacology from the University of Southampton.

He brings more than 30 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience at both large global pharmaceutical companies and smaller biotechnology companies, including Acadia Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Gilead Sciences, Abbott Laboratories and The Wellcome Foundation. His track record includes managing drug development programs, INDs and NDAs as well as post-marketing and OTC products. Most recently he spent nine years at Acadia Pharmaceuticals as Executive Vice President, Development and Chief Medical Officer, where he oversaw the largest ever international Phase 3 program in Parkinson's Disease Psychosis and led the NDA submission to the FDA for NUPLAZID. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Exeter, a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine and a member of the board of Enterin Inc. He received his medical degree from Imperial College, Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, London. During 2025 he was remunerated only as a Board member, as he spent most of his time acting as a director rather than as Chief Medical Officer.

He rejoined Addex in August 2021, having previously spent four years at the company in roles including Associate Director and Group Leader, Behavioral Neuroscience. Immediately before rejoining he spent six years as Director of in vivo neurology at Ipsen (France), and earlier was a section head at Lundbeck (Denmark) and a principal scientist at GlaxoSmithKline's Psychiatry Center of Excellence (UK). He has received the Vernalis Prize of the British Association for Psychopharmacology and the GlaxoSmithKline Exceptional Science Award, is an inventor on several patents and has co-authored more than 50 papers. He earned his PhD in behavioural neuroscience at Rutgers University and completed post-doctoral training at Emory University School of Medicine.
