Marcus L. Smith has served as an MSCI director since 2017 and chairs the Audit Committee.
He was Chief Investment Officer, Canada Equity and a portfolio manager at MFS Investment Management until 2017, having joined in 1994; roles included CIO (Asia) (2010-2012), Director of Asian Research (2005-2009) and Equity Analyst (1995-2000). He is a trustee for certain Eaton Vance funds and holds a B.S. from the University of Mount Union and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School.
