About

Ann-Kristin Achleitner has spent over thirty years as an economist and educator and is an internationally recognized leader in entrepreneurial finance. She is a Distinguished Affiliated Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where she held the Chair of Entrepreneurial Finance between 2001 and 2020, and at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin.

She now acts primarily as a non-executive board director and venture investor. Earlier she held the Chair of Banking and Finance at the European Business School (EBS) in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany from 1995 to 2001, following a brief career as a management consultant with McKinsey. She has served on multiple commissions for the German, Bavarian and Swiss governments as well as the EU Commission, and is Vice-Chair of the Investment and Innovation Advisory Board of the German Federal Ministry of Finance. She has been a director of Lazard since April 2021.

Dr. Achleitner received doctorates in business administration and law from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland.
