James R. Tobin has served on the Globus Medical Board of Directors since August 2015 and is a member of the Board's Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and Compensation Committee. He brings decades of experience as a senior executive of large multinational healthcare and medical device companies.
Mr. Tobin served as President and CEO of Boston Scientific Corporation from March 1999 to July 2009. Before joining Boston Scientific, he served as President and CEO of Biogen, Inc. from 1997 to 1998 and as its Chief Operating Officer from 1994 to 1997. He also worked at Baxter International in various capacities from 1972 to 1994, including as its President and Chief Operating Officer from 1992 to 1994. Mr. Tobin served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972.
Mr. Tobin currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of TransMedics, Inc. (NASDAQ: TMDX), a company specializing in technology for preservation of organs for transplant. He also serves on the board of directors of Lyra Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: LYRA) and Xenter, Inc., a privately held interventional cardiology medical device company. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an A.B. from Harvard College.
