David C. Paul is the founder of Globus Medical and has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors since the Company's inception in 2003. He served as Chief Executive Officer from inception in 2003 until August 2017, when he transitioned into the role of Executive Chairman. He is also a member of the Board's Compensation Committee and its Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Prior to founding Globus, Mr. Paul was employed at Synthes Holding AG (formerly Synthes-Stratec) from March 1996 to January 2003 in various positions, serving in his last role as Director of Product Development, where he was responsible for product development and marketing functions. Before Synthes, he worked as a Research Engineer in biomaterials research at Temple University. Mr. Paul is a named inventor on over 300 patents and published applications.
Mr. Paul also serves on the board of directors of Free Flow Medical, Inc., an early-stage medical device company, and Cross Ventures, LLC, a real estate development company. He received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Madras and an M.S. in computer integrated mechanical engineering systems from Temple University.
