Tod E. Carpenter is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Donaldson Company, having been appointed Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer in November 2017. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer in April 2014 and President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2015.
Carpenter joined Donaldson in 1996 and has held a series of operating and general management roles, including Director of Operations, Gas Turbine Systems; General Manager, Gas Turbine Systems; General Manager, Industrial Filtration Systems; Vice President, Global Industrial Filtration Systems; Vice President, Europe and Middle East; and Senior Vice President, Engine Products. Across these roles he drove strategic growth initiatives, launched proprietary products, and strengthened relationships with the Company's key global customers.
On January 28, 2026, Carpenter gave notice of his retirement as President and Chief Executive Officer effective at the end of the day on March 1, 2026, and will continue as Executive Chairman of the Board to facilitate a smooth transition. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology from Indiana State University and an M.B.A. from Long Beach State University, and serves on the boards of Donaldson, AMETEK, Inc., and Taylor Corporation.
