Gregory E. Abel Chief Executive Officer & Director

Gregory E. Abel has been a director of Berkshire Hathaway since 2018 and became the company's Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2026, succeeding Warren Buffett. He previously served as Berkshire's Vice Chairman - Non-Insurance Operations from 2018 to 2025. From 2008 to 2018 he was Chief Executive Officer of Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company (BHE), a wholly owned subsidiary, and served as BHE's Chairman until July 2025. Abel brings 33 years of experience in various positions at BHE and eight years overseeing Berkshire's non-insurance businesses.

Howard G. Buffett has been a director of Berkshire Hathaway since 1993 and is a son of Warren E. Buffett. Since 1999 he has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, a charitable foundation that directs funding for humanitarian and conservation-related issues. He also serves on the boards of several other charitable organizations. Mr. Buffett was the Sheriff of Macon County, Illinois between September 2017 and December 2018.

Susan A. Buffett has been a director of Berkshire Hathaway since 2021 and is a daughter of Warren E. Buffett. For more than the past five years she has been Chair of The Sherwood Foundation and Chair of The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, each a private grant-making foundation based in Omaha, Nebraska. Warren E. Buffett Chairman of the Board

Warren E. Buffett has been a director and the controlling shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway since 1965 and its Chairman since 1970. He served as Berkshire's Chief Executive Officer from 1970 through the end of 2025, when Gregory Abel succeeded him, and he continues as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Buffett owns Berkshire shares representing approximately 30.0% of the voting interest and 13.7% of the economic interest, and is deemed to be the company's controlling shareholder. His annual salary has been $100,000 for more than 40 years.

Stephen B. Burke Director

He has served as Chairman and a Managing Director of General Catalyst, an investment and transformation company, since February 2018. Chenault joined American Express in 1981 as Director of Strategic Planning and held a number of increasingly senior positions, including Vice Chairman and President and Chief Operating Officer, before becoming CEO.

Marc D. Hamburg Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Marc D. Hamburg is Berkshire Hathaway's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and its Secretary, having served as an executive officer since 1992. Berkshire announced that Hamburg will resign as Chief Financial Officer on June 1, 2026 and retire from the company on June 1, 2027, working with his successor during the transition. In recognition of his many decades of service, Berkshire will provide him (or his spouse) up to 30 flight hours per year on a mid-sized NetJets aircraft, with tax gross-up, for a term ending no later than May 31, 2037.

Charles C. Chang Chief Financial Officer (effective June 1, 2026)

Charles C. Chang will succeed Marc D. Hamburg as Berkshire Hathaway's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on June 1, 2026, and will be paid an annual cash salary of $8,000,000. He has been Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE) since joining BHE on October 1, 2024. Prior to joining BHE, Chang had been a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers since 2002. Berkshire disclosed no family relationships between Mr. Chang and any of its directors or executive officers.
