Warren E. Buffett has been a director and the controlling shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway since 1965 and its Chairman since 1970. He served as Berkshire's Chief Executive Officer from 1970 through the end of 2025, when Gregory Abel succeeded him, and he continues as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Buffett owns Berkshire shares representing approximately 30.0% of the voting interest and 13.7% of the economic interest, and is deemed to be the company's controlling shareholder. His annual salary has been $100,000 for more than 40 years.
