Alamo Group acquired Morbark, LLC for approximately $352 million (announced); about $354 million on a debt-free basis at close, a transaction completed in October 2019, structured as all cash.
Morbark, LLC operates in Industrial / vegetation management, is based in Winn, Michigan, USA (with operations in Wooster, Ohio and Roxton Falls, Quebec), had revenue of about approximately $233 million (TTM to July 2019); $225.5 million in 2018. Alamo announced in September 2019 an agreement to buy Morbark, LLC, a Winn, Michigan maker of forestry, tree-care, biomass, land-management and recycling equipment sold under the Morbark, Rayco, Denis Cimaf and Boxer brands, and closed the deal on October 24, 2019 for about $354 million on a debt-free basis. Morbark, founded in 1957 and previously owned by Stellex Capital Partners, had roughly $233 million in trailing-twelve-month sales and about 720 employees.
Alamo said Morbark's products expand and complement its range of vegetation-maintenance equipment in an adjacent market and that the two companies would benefit from operational synergies and scale.
