David Zalman is a director and the Senior Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Prosperity Bancshares and Prosperity Bank. He joined the Bank as President in 1986, became Chairman and CEO in 2001 and Senior Chairman and CEO in 2005, and became a director of the Company in 1987. From 1978 to 1986 he was employed by Commercial State Bank in El Campo, rising from cashier to Chief Executive Officer, and he holds a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. He served on the Federal Advisory Council to the Federal Reserve Board from 2021 to 2024 and on the board of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank, Houston Branch, from 2016 to 2021.
