Harvey M. Schwartz is the Chief Executive Officer of Carlyle and a member of the Board of Directors, based in New York. He held senior positions at Goldman Sachs from 1997 to 2018, including President and Co-Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Global Co-Head of the Securities Division.
His career began at J.B. Hanauer & Co. and First Interregional Equity Corporation before he joined Citigroup in 1989, where he specialized in structuring commodity derivatives. He holds a BA from Rutgers University and an MBA from Columbia University.
