Afsaneh M. Beschloss joined Carlyle's Board of Directors as a Class III director effective May 1, 2024. She is an economist and a leader in sustainable and inclusive investing and policy, and is the founder and CEO of RockCreek, one of the world's largest women-owned investment firms.

She previously was a Managing Director and partner at Carlyle from 2001 to 2003. As the World Bank's Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer she led the Bank's investments, balance-sheet management, ratings, borrowings, and financial-product innovation, and earlier led its investments and policy work in renewable energy, power, and infrastructure. Earlier in her career she worked in corporate finance at JP Morgan.
