Eric Crombez, M.D., became an Abeona director on August 8, 2024. He serves as Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President of Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. (Nasdaq: RARE), responsible for strategic leadership of clinical development and translational research and overseeing global development functions. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer of Dimension Therapeutics, leading clinical development of gene therapy programs in hemophilia B, hemophilia A, OTC deficiency and GSDIa, and earlier worked in Shire's Human Genetics Therapy business unit and as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. A board-certified clinical geneticist, he earned a B.S. in biology from the University of Michigan and an M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine.
