Held various executive roles at Medidata Solutions (March 2005-February 2015), including EVP of Field Operations. Spent nine years at PeopleSoft and earlier was Northeast Sales Director at Red Pepper Software and a major account executive at JD Edwards. B.S. in Computer Science and Marketing from Juniata College.

President and CEO of Genomic Health from January 2009 (Chairman from March 2012) until its November 2019 acquisition by Exact Sciences; earlier President and COO of Genomic Health (2002-2009). Held various roles at Genentech (1987-2002), most recently SVP, Marketing and Sales. Previously Chief Strategy Officer of Standard BioTools (January-July 2024); interim CEO of SomaLogic (March 2023 until its January 2024 acquisition by Standard BioTools); SomaLogic Chief Business Officer (2021-2023) and EVP of Life Sciences. Spent 19 years at Thermo Fisher Scientific in roles including VP & GM-Molecular Biology and VP-Strategy and Business Development. B.A. in Political Science and Russian from Miami University (Ohio).

Appointed General Counsel and Secretary of 10x Genomics effective January 1, 2026, succeeding Eric S. Whitaker. Previously VP, Intellectual Property and Litigation. Joined the company in August 2016 after working as an attorney at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Served as 10x Genomics' General Counsel from July 2017 and as Chief Legal Officer; announced retirement as CLO on November 12, 2025, effective January 1, 2026, transitioning to Strategic Counsel. Previously Chief Legal Officer of Nutanix (2014-2017) and SanDisk (2013-2014), General Counsel of Tesla (2010-2012), and earlier an attorney at Latham & Watkins.
