Sarah A. Teichmann, Ph.D., has served on the 10x Genomics board of directors since July 2024.
She has been Chair in Stem Cell Medicine at the University of Cambridge's Stem Cell Institute and Department of Medicine since April 2024 and a Senior Research Fellow at Churchill College since October 2016. She co-founded the Human Cell Atlas in October 2016 and co-chairs its organizing committee and the board of Human Cell Atlas, Inc. (since April 2020). She has also served as Vice President, Translational Research, Respiratory & Immunology at GlaxoSmithKline since January 2024 and as co-founder, Chief Scientific Officer and board member of EnsoCell Therapeutics since September 2023.
Prior roles include Head of Cellular Genetics at the Wellcome Sanger Institute (2016-2023), Research Group Leader at EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute (2013-2016) and Programme Leader at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (2001-2013). She is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, the Royal Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine.
She received a Ph.D. in Computational Genomics and a B.A. and M.A. in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of Cambridge.
