NVIDIA Corporation acquired Run:ai, a transaction announced in April 2024.
Run:ai operates in AI infrastructure software, is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Run:ai built a Kubernetes-based workload management and orchestration platform that lets enterprises pool and schedule GPU resources across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments to raise utilization. NVIDIA, a close collaborator with Run:ai since 2020, agreed to acquire the company to help customers run large, distributed AI compute more efficiently.
NVIDIA said the acquisition would help customers get more from their AI compute by managing and optimizing infrastructure across on-prem, cloud and hybrid deployments through Run:ai's scheduling and resource-management platform.
Open, Kubernetes-native GPU orchestration used by large enterprises managing datacenter-scale clusters. Deeper software control over GPU utilization across hybrid AI infrastructure; scheduler later open-sourced. Joined NVIDIA's software organization; Run:ai scheduler subsequently open-sourced.
