Microsoft Corporation acquired Teamprise, a transaction announced in November 2009, structured as Acquisition of assets.
Teamprise operates in Developer Division (Visual Studio). Teamprise (a division of SourceGear) provided cross-platform development tools—an Eclipse plug-in, a standalone client, and a command-line client—that let developers on Unix, Linux, and Mac OS X connect to Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. Microsoft acquired the Teamprise assets to give customers a single set of application-lifecycle tools across heterogeneous environments, integrating them into Visual Studio starting with Visual Studio 2010.
Provide cross-platform support so developers on non-Windows platforms can use Team Foundation Server for version control, work-item tracking, build management, and process guidance from a single toolset.
