Microsoft Corporation acquired ReFirm Labs, a transaction announced in June 2021.
ReFirm Labs operates in Azure Defender for IoT. ReFirm Labs specializes in firmware security analysis and is the creator of Binwalk, an open-source tool that scans device firmware for vulnerabilities, unpatched CVEs and insecure secrets across IoT and embedded systems. Microsoft acquired it to close a firmware-level security gap and strengthen protection across intelligent edge devices.
Add firmware-analysis capabilities to Azure Defender for IoT so customers can secure devices from the chip to the cloud.
