Navic Networks provided addressable-advertising and interactive-television technology to cable and satellite operators, reaching more than 35 million digital set-top boxes in North America. Microsoft acquired it to extend its advertising platform into television—the largest category of ad spending—and enable targeted, measurable TV advertising.
