LinkExchange operates in MSN, is based in San Francisco, California, USA. LinkExchange provided online marketing services to website owners and small and mid-sized businesses, anchored by a banner-advertising network of more than 400,000 sites plus search-engine submission, e-mail list management and e-commerce tools. Microsoft acquired the 100-employee San Francisco firm to greatly expand MSN's small-business services and pull LinkExchange's large network of smaller sites into the MSN ecosystem.
