Microsoft Corporation acquired InMage, a transaction announced in July 2014.
InMage operates in Azure (Azure Site Recovery). InMage developed cloud-based business continuity and disaster-recovery technology for backing up, replicating, and recovering data and applications across Windows, Linux, physical, and virtualized (Hyper-V and VMware) environments. Microsoft acquired it to make Azure a comprehensive disaster-recovery destination and ease migration for VMware customers.
Establish Azure as a hybrid-cloud business-continuity and disaster-recovery destination and provide a VMware-to-Azure migration path.
