Microsoft Corporation acquired Express Logic, a transaction announced in April 2019.
Express Logic operates in Azure IoT, is based in San Diego, California, United States. Express Logic is a provider of real-time operating systems (RTOS) for IoT and edge devices powered by microcontroller units, whose ThreadX RTOS had more than 6.2 billion deployments worldwide. Microsoft acquired it to bring the vast installed base of RTOS-powered MCU devices into the Azure IoT ecosystem.
