Microsoft Corporation acquired Colusa and Aspect, a transaction announced in March 1996.
Colusa and Aspect operates in Internet and developer tools (component / database middleware), is based in United States. In a single announcement Microsoft acquired Colusa Software Inc., maker of the OmniWare technology that let developers build memory-protected, safely downloadable internet software components using Software Fault Isolation, and agreed to acquire Aspect Software Engineering Inc., whose dbWeb middleware gave web servers real-time access to databases without programming. Microsoft folded both into its internet and developer-tools roadmap.
