Altamira operates in Multimedia / graphics (Image Composer, later bundled with FrontPage), is based in United States. Altamira Software, founded by Pixar co-founder Alvy Ray Smith, developed Altamira Composer, an early object-based image-composition and editing application for Windows. Microsoft acquired the company and its imaging technology, which became the basis of Microsoft Image Composer bundled with FrontPage.
