Meta Platforms acquired Kustomer, a transaction announced in November 2020.
Kustomer operates in Family of Apps (business messaging), is based in New York, New York, USA. Kustomer is a customer-relationship-management (CRM) platform that lets businesses manage customer interactions across channels. Facebook acquired it to give businesses better service and support tools as more customer communication shifted to messaging on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. The deal was completed in 2022 after EU regulatory clearance. Deal terms were not officially disclosed.
Facebook said its goal was to give businesses best-in-class tools for excellent service and support as texts and messages became as important to businesses as phone calls.
