Seelze research chemicals business (Sigma-Aldrich) operates in Performance Materials & Technologies (PMT) — Fine Chemicals / Specialty Products, is based in Seelze, Germany. The Seelze, Germany-based business develops and manufactures high-purity laboratory research chemicals, solvents and reagents used in drug discovery, medical diagnostic testing and other lab applications, and includes the Fluka, Hydranal and Chromasolv brands plus the Sigma-Aldrich solvents and inorganics line in the EEA. Honeywell acquired it from Sigma-Aldrich, which was required to divest the unit as an EU antitrust remedy for Merck KGaA's acquisition of Sigma-Aldrich. The roughly 200-employee business was integrated into Honeywell's Fine Chemicals business.

Broadens Honeywell's research-chemicals portfolio (adding Fluka, Hydranal and Chromasolv to its Riedel-de Haen and Burdick & Jackson brands) and expands its global reach in high-purity solvents, reagents and inorganics for pharma, food, environmental and forensic testing.
