CENTRAL GARDEN & PET CO acquired Pets International, Ltd. (Super Pet) for Approximately $35 million, a transaction announced in June 2005, structured as Acquisition (cash plus potential earnout).
Pets International, Ltd. (Super Pet) operates in Pet, is based in United States. Central Garden & Pet acquired Chicago-based Pets International, Ltd., a leading supplier of innovative small animal and specialty pet supplies including homes, habitats, exercise toys, feeding devices and chews marketed under the Super Pet brand. Founder and President Bob Krause and his team continued with the business. Pets International's 2004 net sales were approximately $36 million.
Strengthens Central's portfolio of premium small-animal brands; combined with its Kaytee operations, it lets Central offer a complete line of food, consumable supplies and premium accessories for small pets such as rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, guinea pigs, gerbils and chinchillas.
