AMETEK acquired Kern Microtechnik, a transaction completed in January 2025, structured as All-cash.

Kern Microtechnik makes ultra-precision machining systems and optical tool-inspection equipment capable of sub-micron accuracy, serving the medical, semiconductor, research and space markets. AMETEK acquired the German business in January 2025 for about $104.1 million in cash, net of cash acquired, against annual sales of roughly 50 million euros. Kern became part of AMETEK's Ultra Precision Technologies division within the Electronic Instruments Group, adding technology plus market and geographic reach.

Kern's design and engineering capabilities complement the company's existing ultra precision technologies business.
