Amplifier Research, headquartered in Souderton, Pennsylvania, makes radio-frequency and microwave amplifiers along with electromagnetic-compatibility (EMC) test equipment for the defense, medical, communications and automotive markets, with annual sales of roughly $60 million. AMETEK announced the acquisition in October 2023 and placed it in the Electronic Instruments Group, adding amplifier-design expertise that supports EMC testing for uses such as electric-vehicle validation and defense communications.
