Agilysys acquires Inter-American Data, Inc.

Agilysys acquired Inter-American Data, Inc. for approximately $36.5 million, a transaction announced in February 2004, structured as all cash.

Inter-American Data, Inc. operates in Hospitality software (property & materials management), is based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, had revenue of about approximately $40 million (2003). Agilysys agreed to acquire substantially all the assets of Inter-American Data (IAD), an Atlanta-based developer of software and services for hotel casinos and major resorts. IAD's suite spanned property management, materials management and electronic document storage and powered some of the world's largest resorts, establishing Agilysys as a leading software developer and service provider to the hospitality industry.

Management framed the deal as a key step to enhance its competitive position and expand its intellectual assets, opening new markets and expanding the customer base.
