Afya Limited acquired DelRey for R$816.2 million.
DelRey (Sociedade Educacional e Cultural Sergipe DelRey) is a post-secondary education institution authorized to offer on-campus undergraduate and graduate degree programs in medicine and health, plus other courses, across the states of Alagoas and Pernambuco. The deal encompasses the operations of Centro Universitario Tiradentes Alagoas (UNIMA) and Faculdade Tiradentes Jaboatao dos Guararapes (FCM Jaboatao). It added 340 medical school seats to Afya and contributed R$240,107 thousand of revenue and R$82,147 thousand of income before income taxes in 2023.
With the acquisition Afya further consolidates its presence in the Brazilian Northeast, entering a new state in the region.
