Pensando Systems, Inc. operates in Data Center — DPUs and distributed services. AMD acquired Pensando, a startup founded in 2017 building a distributed services platform around a high-performance, fully programmable packet processor (DPU) and software stack for networking, security and storage. Announced April 4, 2022 for about $1.9 billion and closed May 26, 2022, the deal added technology already deployed at scale by customers including Goldman Sachs, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud.
