Sumitomo Electric North American EPON business operates in Fiber broadband access / cable MSO, is based in North America (plus license/OEM rights across South America, EMEA, Australia and New Zealand). ADTRAN secured the market-leading EPON business for North America from Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., along with technology license and OEM supply rights for North America, South America, EMEA, Australia and New Zealand. ADTRAN assumed sales, customer-relationship, distribution, support, manufacturing and development rights for these EPON solutions outside Japan and Asia, integrating them into its SD-Access portfolio.
Extended ADTRAN's leadership in the North American cable MSO market and accelerated MSOs' adoption of open, programmable distributed-access architectures for multi-gigabit services.
