DTM Corporation operates in Metal additive manufacturing (powder bed fusion / laser sintering). DTM, acquired by 3D Systems in 2001, had in the mid-1990s pioneered a sintered-metals technology named RapidSteel. Per 3D Systems, the acquisition marks the start of the company's long history in metal powder bed fusion and laid the foundation for its later Direct Metal Printing (DMP) portfolio, alongside its subsequent acquisitions of Phenix and LayerWise.
