Dr. L. Rafael Reif is President Emeritus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he served as President from 2012 to 2022 and previously as Provost and head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering, co-chairs the Growth Technical Advisory Board of Applied Materials, and holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
