Dr. Vishal Misra is the RKS Family Professor of Computer Science and Vice Dean of Computing and Artificial Intelligence at Columbia University. He has served as a Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Columbia since 2016 and as Vice Dean since January 2024, having earlier served as Associate Professor (2005-2016) and Assistant Professor (2001-2005).
Dr. Misra founded Ask Here First, Inc., an AI-based natural language query solution, in January 2021. He served as Chief Technology Officer of Infinio Systems Inc., a storage-performance software company, from 2012 to 2014 and as its Chief Executive Officer from 2011 to 2012. He holds a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
