Todd McKinnon co-founded Okta and has served as Chief Executive Officer and a director since January 2009, and as Chairperson of the Board since February 2017. Over more than 15 years leading Okta he has developed deep knowledge of the identity security competitive landscape, customer requirements and technology evolution.
Before founding Okta, Mr. McKinnon served as Senior Vice President of Development at Salesforce, Inc. and held engineering and leadership roles at PeopleSoft, providing a technical foundation that informs Okta's platform architecture and R&D decisions.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Information Systems from Brigham Young University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
