David P. Stockert has served as one of three general partners in Sweetwater Opportunity Funds, a series of Atlanta-based private real estate investment funds, since 2019. Mr. Stockert served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Post Properties, Inc. from 2002 until its merger with MAA in December 2016, having previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer from 2001 until 2002.

Prior to joining Post Properties, Mr. Stockert served as Executive Vice President of Duke Realty Corporation from 1999 until 2000 and as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Weeks Corporation from 1995 until it merged with Duke Realty Corporation in 1999. He serves on MAA's Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and Real Estate Investment Committee.
