Dr. Homaira Akbari has served as a director of Landstar System since January 2013. She is President and Chief Executive Officer of AKnowledge Partners, LLC, a global advisory firm providing consultative strategies to Fortune 1000 companies and private equity firms across the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, enterprise software and artificial intelligence.
From 2007 to 2012 she was President and CEO of SkyBitz, Inc., a provider of remote asset tracking and security solutions for companies with unpowered assets such as truck trailing equipment, intermodal containers and rail cars. Earlier she held executive positions at Microsoft Corporation, Thales Group, TruePosition, Inc. (a Liberty Media subsidiary) and Cambridge Strategic Management Group. She holds a Ph.D. in particle physics from Tufts University and is a member of the Business Board of Advisors for Carnegie Mellon University.
