Per Encompass Health's official company-leadership page, Dr. Elissa (Lisa) Charbonneau, D.O., M.S., was appointed chief medical officer in June 2015 and oversees medical operations, quality and patient care for all Encompass Health hospitals nationwide. She has been appointed to the national American Stroke Association Advisory Committee and was named one of Modern Healthcare's 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives. She received her doctor of osteopathic medicine from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, a master's in natural sciences/epidemiology from SUNY Buffalo, and a bachelor's degree from Cornell University.
