LeeRoy Wells Jr. is Senior Vice President of CMS Energy and Consumers Energy and President - Gas Delivery at Consumers Energy, a position to which he was appointed in 2025. In this role he oversees the natural gas delivery business unit, including operations and engineering of the entire natural gas system, as well as enterprise-wide safety strategy, and he is a named executive officer of CMS Energy and Consumers Energy.
Wells joined Consumers Energy in 2006 and progressed through a series of operations leadership roles. He became Senior Vice President of Operations effective December 1, 2020, after serving as Vice President of Gas Operations from 2019 and, earlier, Vice President of Operations Support (overseeing supply chain, corporate safety and health, fleet, facilities, and real estate).
Before those roles he served as Executive Director of Electric System Operations and Maintenance, leading a workforce of roughly 500 employees responsible for electric low-voltage distribution maintenance, construction, and service restoration, and held earlier managerial positions in electric systems maintenance, instrumentation, controls, infrastructure, and operations.
