Tim Cook has served as Apple's Chief Executive Officer since 2011 and as a director since 2011. He joined Apple in March 1998 and served as Chief Operating Officer from October 2005 before becoming CEO.
He brings extensive executive leadership experience in the technology industry, including management of worldwide operations, sales, service, and support.
Apple announced on April 20, 2026 that Mr. Cook will transition from Chief Executive Officer to Executive Chair of the Board effective September 1, 2026.
