Art Levinson has served as Chair of Apple's Board since 2011 and as a director since 2000. He has been Chief Executive Officer of Calico, a health and aging research company, since September 2013, and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Genentech from July 1995 to April 2009 and as its Chairman from September 1999 to September 2014. Apple has announced that Dr. Levinson will become Lead Independent Director effective September 1, 2026.
