Brian Chesky co-founded Airbnb in 2008 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer; he is also Chairman of the board of directors. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design.

Angela Ahrendts joined Airbnb's board of directors in May 2019. She served as Senior Vice President, Retail at Apple Inc. from May 2014 to May 2019, and prior to that as a director and Chief Executive Officer of Burberry plc from July 2006 to April 2014. She currently serves as a director of Ralph Lauren Corporation and WPP plc.

Kenneth Chenault joined Airbnb's board of directors in January 2018 and serves as its lead director. Since February 2018 he has been Chairman and Managing Director of General Catalyst, and he previously held roles of increasing responsibility at American Express Company, serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from April 2001 through January 2018. He has served on the board of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. since May 2020.

Amrita Ahuja joined Airbnb's board of directors in December 2021. She has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Block, Inc. since January 2019 and as its Chief Operating Officer since February 2023, and previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.

Joseph Gebbia co-founded Airbnb in 2008 and serves as a member of the board of directors. He received dual degrees in Graphic Design and Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, and since September 2022 has served on the board of directors of Tesla, Inc.

Jeffrey Jordan joined Airbnb's board of directors in August 2011 and serves as a general partner of Andreessen Horowitz, which he joined in July 2011. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of OpenTable, Inc. from 2007 to 2011 and as President of PayPal, Inc. from 2004 to 2006.

Nathan Blecharczyk co-founded Airbnb in 2008 and serves as its Chief Strategy Officer; he is also a member of the board of directors. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Harvard University and held several engineering positions before co-founding Airbnb.

Alfred Lin joined Airbnb's board of directors in November 2012 and has been a partner at Sequoia Capital Operations LLC since October 2010. He previously served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Operating Officer of Zappos.com Inc. from January 2005 to December 2010, and serves on the board of DoorDash.

James Manyika joined Airbnb's board of directors in September 2023. He has served as Senior Vice President of Research, Labs, Technology & Society at Google LLC since January 2022, and was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company from 2006 to January 2021. He chairs Airbnb's Stakeholder Committee.

Elinor (Ellie) Mertz has served as Airbnb's Chief Financial Officer since March 2024. She previously served as the Company's Vice President of Finance from January 2019 until March 2024 and as Head of Global Financial Planning & Analysis from February 2013 to January 2019, and before joining Airbnb in 2013 was Vice President, Finance & Investor Relations at Netflix, Inc. She serves on the boards of DoorDash, Inc. and Netflix, Inc.

Aristotle Balogh served as Airbnb's Chief Technology Officer and was a named executive officer for fiscal 2025. On November 18, 2025 he notified the Company that he would depart from the Chief Technology Officer role in December 2025, after seven years of service, and agreed to remain through at least February 2026 in an advisory, non-executive capacity.
