Morris A. Davis is the Paul V. Profeta Chair of Real Estate and Professor of Finance and Economics at Rutgers Business School, where he is also Academic Director of the Center for Real Estate; he is a Visiting Scholar of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis's Opportunity and Inclusive Growth Institute and a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
He first served as a director of AGNC from May 2008 until March 2025, when he resigned to join the White House Council of Economic Advisors as Chief Housing Economist; his service at the CEA ended in November 2025 and he was reappointed to the Board in January 2026 (effective January 12, 2026).
A leading expert on housing markets, real estate finance, and urban economics, he previously held the James A. Graaskamp Chair at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and worked as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
