Krishnan Viswanadhan, Pharm.D., joined Agios as chief strategy and operations officer in March 2025. He is a seasoned biopharmaceutical executive with over 20 years of cross-functional experience advancing novel medicines for patients with serious and life-threatening diseases.
Prior to joining Agios, he served as president and chief operating officer at Be Biopharma, where he led all operational aspects of the company. Before that, he was senior vice president, global cell therapy franchise lead at Bristol Myers Squibb, where he oversaw the integrated cell therapy franchise strategy and led the teams responsible for the development, approval and life cycle management of Breyanzi, a CD19 CAR-T therapy, and Abecma, the first BCMA CAR-T therapy. Earlier in his career, he was vice president, business development and global alliances at Celgene Corporation.
He is a registered pharmacist with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University.
