Stephen R. Biggar, M.D., Ph.D., has served as an ACADIA director since January 2013 and as Chair of the Board since June 2016. He is a Partner at Baker Bros. Advisors LP, a registered investment adviser focused on long-term investments in life-sciences companies, which he joined in 2000. He currently serves on the boards of Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals and TScan Therapeutics. He received an M.D. and a Ph.D. in immunology from Stanford University and a B.S. in genetics from the University of Rochester.
Julian C. Baker has served as an ACADIA director since December 2015. He is a Managing Member of Baker Bros. Advisors LP, a registered investment adviser focused on long-term investments in life-sciences companies, which he co-founded in 2000 with his brother, Felix Baker, Ph.D. He previously was a portfolio manager at Tisch Financial Management and worked in the private-equity arm of Credit Suisse First Boston. He currently serves on the boards of Incyte Corporation, Madrigal Pharmaceuticals and Denali Therapeutics.
Laura A. Brege has served as an ACADIA director since May 2008. She has been a Senior Advisor to BridgeBio Pharma since 2017 and previously was Managing Director of Cervantes Life Science Partners, President and CEO of Nodality, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Onyx Pharmaceuticals. She currently serves on the boards of Edgewise Therapeutics, Mirum Pharmaceuticals, Pacira BioSciences and T-knife Therapeutics. She earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
James M. Daly has served as an ACADIA director since January 2016. He was Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Incyte Corporation (2012-2015), earlier held multiple leadership roles at Amgen, and spent more than 16 years at Glaxo Wellcome/GlaxoSmithKline. He currently serves on the boards of argenx SE, Cytokinetics and Madrigal Pharmaceuticals. He earned a B.S. in pharmacy and an M.B.A. from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.
Elizabeth A. Garofalo, M.D., has served as an ACADIA director since September 2020. Since 2016 she has been Principal of EAG Pharma Consulting, and she previously held senior leadership roles at Novartis, including Senior Vice President and Global Head of Clinical Development, and served as head of the neuroscience therapy area at Astellas Pharma. She currently serves on the boards of Alector and Xenon Pharmaceuticals. She earned her M.D. from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed fellowships in pediatric neurology and epilepsy at the University of Michigan.
Edmund P. Harrigan, M.D., has served as an ACADIA director since November 2015. He is Principal at Harrigan Consulting and previously served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Safety and Regulatory at Pfizer (2012-2015), among other senior Pfizer leadership roles spanning worldwide business development, regulatory affairs and neuroscience. He currently serves on the board of Incyte Corporation. He earned a B.A. in chemistry from St. Anselm College and an M.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Worcester.
Adora Ndu, Pharm.D., J.D., has served as an ACADIA director since October 2022. She is Chief Regulatory Officer and Executive Vice President of Portfolio Strategy and Management at BridgeBio Pharma, which she joined in 2022, and previously held regulatory leadership roles at BioMarin Pharmaceutical and served in various roles at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration from 2008 to 2016, most recently as a Division Director in the Division of Medical Policy Development. She currently serves on the board of DBV Technologies. She earned her Pharm.D. from Howard University and her J.D. from the University of Maryland.
Jonathan Poole has served as an ACADIA director since March 2026. Since 2020 he has been Senior Vice President, Finance at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, leading the global finance team supporting corporate, commercial, R&D and manufacturing functions. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Evelo Biosciences and of Genocea Biosciences and as a director and audit committee chair of Codiak Biosciences. He received a B.Sc. in biological sciences from Durham University and an M.B.A. from London Business School.
Catherine Owen Adams has served as ACADIA's Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors since September 2024, succeeding Stephen R. Davis. She brings more than 25 years of biopharmaceutical leadership. Previously she was Senior Vice President and General Manager, U.S. at Bristol Myers Squibb (2019-2024), where she led a $20 billion commercial business across Oncology, Cardiovascular and Immunology, and earlier served as Senior Vice President, Head of Major Markets at BMS during its merger with Celgene. Before BMS she spent 25 years at Johnson & Johnson, culminating as President, Janssen Immunology U.S. She currently serves on the boards of Agios Pharmaceuticals and AssistRx, and earned a BSc in Pharmacy from the University of Manchester.
Mark C. Schneyer has served as ACADIA's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since December 2021. He joined the company in May 2020 as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Chief Business Officer and served as interim CFO from September to December 2021. He oversees strategic finance, investor relations, accounting, business development, information technology and technical operations. Before ACADIA he was Vice President, Business Development for Pfizer's Upjohn division and spent nearly a decade in Pfizer's Worldwide Business Development organization, following 14 years as an investment banker at Lazard. He earned a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Thomas Garner has served as ACADIA's Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer since December 2024, overseeing global commercial strategy for DAYBUE and NUPLAZID. He brings more than 25 years of pharmaceutical commercial experience. Before joining ACADIA he was Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals (2023-2024) and spent over 20 years at Bristol Myers Squibb, most recently as Senior Vice President and head of the U.S. Cardiovascular and Established Brands business unit and earlier as U.S. brand lead for Camzyos (mavacamten). He holds a BSc (Honors) from the Royal Agricultural University and a General Management certification from INSEAD.
Jennifer J. Rhodes has served as ACADIA's Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary since January 2024, overseeing the legal, government affairs and patient advocacy functions. She brings more than 20 years of life-sciences legal and business experience. She previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer, and earlier as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary, at Angion Biomedica; as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Adamas Pharmaceuticals; and as General Counsel at Medivation. Earlier she was an Assistant General Counsel at Pfizer and an attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges. She holds a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and a B.A. in economics from Newcomb College of Tulane University.
Elizabeth H.Z. Thompson, Ph.D., has served as ACADIA's Executive Vice President, Head of Research and Development since April 2024, leading the company's neuroscience and rare-disease R&D organization; in April 2026 she announced her intention to retire by the end of the year. Before joining ACADIA she was Executive Vice President, Research and Development (Rare Disease) at Amgen following its acquisition of Horizon Therapeutics, where she had served as Executive Vice President, Research and Development. Earlier she held clinical-development leadership roles at AbbVie (clinical lead for risankizumab/SKYRIZI), Raptor Pharmaceuticals, InterMune and Amgen. She earned a B.S. in chemistry from Harvey Mudd College and a Ph.D. in macromolecular and cellular structure and chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute.
