Christopher H. Hunter served as Chief Executive Officer of Acadia Healthcare and as a member of the Board from April 11, 2022 until his departure effective January 20, 2026, when he also resigned from the Board. He was succeeded as CEO by Debra K. Osteen.
Mr. Hunter brought more than 20 years of healthcare experience across a range of sectors to the role. Before joining Acadia he held senior leadership positions at Humana Inc., including President of the Group, Military and Specialty segment and Chief Strategy Officer.
He holds a bachelor’s degree, awarded with highest honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
