Dr. Robert J. Alpern serves as an independent director of Abbott Laboratories, drawing on decades of leadership in academic medicine, most notably his long tenure as Dean of the Yale School of Medicine.
His medical and scientific expertise and his knowledge of the health care environment inform the Board's oversight of Abbott's research and development. He is not standing for re-election at the 2026 Annual Meeting and will continue to serve as a director until that meeting.
